Sunday Morning
If you work or visit downtown San Antonio often you have probably noticed that something has changed with crosswalk signals. Similar to the crossing on Commerce and Flores street, the heart of downtown is now fixed so that pedestrians are held while traffic is moving and allowed to cross the street diagonally and in all directions while traffic is completely stopped. The sudden change has left people looking perplexed by the signals staying red while traffic goes by. Yesterday while going to lunch, I crossed diagonally and people looked at me like I was crazy.
I’m not sure why San Antonio made this change. I’m assuming it’s for pedestrian safety and to get traffic moving more smoothly so they don’t have to wait for pedestrians to cross when they have the green light. Of course, none of this works if people don’t understand that they should not cross when the walk signal is red.
I set out to make an ugly splash page for my website www.jtsilva.com It's ugly in a good way. But, I don't know if I'll be able to stand it a few hours from now. lol
I had come across posterous.com a few times over the past year but didn't pay too much attention to it. I don't know why but it finally caught my full attention today. I had been looking for an easy blog engine. Let's face it. I haven't been blogging much because my little 140 character phrases on Twitter had taken over. But because Posterous is cross-platform (it works with Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Delicious, and more), I can tweet, upload photos, videos, etc. using just one website. Being able to update everything via e-mail or text message makes it that much more compelling and easier to post more frequently. That being said, I'm going to be trying posterous.com for a bit now. I've implemented it on my website blog.jtsilva.com as well. We'll see if it gets me posting more often.
